Virus Protection\/Points of Precautions:\r\nBefore showing you how to clean your PC from viruses and malicious software I want to show you some points of precautions.\r\nThe best things to do to prevent having Viruses on your PC by remembering the below points:\r\n\r\nYou have to have an antivirus program installed on your system and to be always updated.\r\nTo have a firewall program installed and updated as well.\r\nDon\u2019t open any emails come from spam or someone you don\u2019t know, delete them immediately.\r\nDon\u2019t receive any file through a public chat messengers from someone you don\u2019t know or you don\u2019t trust even if they say it is their picture.\r\nDon\u2019t open any link sent by someone you don\u2019t know through a chat program or from spam emails.\r\nDon\u2019t open un-trusted, illegal or porn websites.\r\nDon\u2019t click on any advertisements that might show in websites asking you to download free antivirus software or to install software that you don\u2019t know about.\r\nDon\u2019t install and use any public shared software (which you can download files from other users over the net) like P2P programs.\r\nAlways scan any CD\/DVD, flash memory or external Hard Disk before using it.\r\nPerform a periodic scan for your computer by the antivirus and anti spy ware programs.\r\nNever use crack files or faked serial numbers to activate your programs.\r\nWhen you want to purchase something over the internet always use Paypal to pay and never use your own credit card.\r\n\r\nHow to clean my PC from Viruses?\r\nIf you feel that your Windows is still infected with viruses even after performing the antivirus checking, or if you see that every time you run the antivirus scan it detects some new viruses, follow the below steps:\r\n1. Restart your Computer and enter to the Safe Mode\r\nHow to do that?\r\n\r\nKeep on pressing the F8 key (from the keyboard) during the rebooting several times, if the Windows logo screen appears it means you\u2019ve missed the correct moment so restart your Windows and try again.\r\n\r\n Note: If you have a BIOS password, enter the password then start pressing the F8 key, and\/or if you\u2019ve asked about selecting a boot device, select the Hard Disk and then press F8 key. \r\n\r\nAfter that a black screen with several options will appear, chose the Safe Mode option.\r\nLog into your admin account (in case if you have an Admin account in addition to your account).\r\nThen click OK on the Safe Mode Dialogue.\r\n\r\n2. Clean your Temp folder.\r\nHow to do that?\r\n\r\nOpen Control Panel.\r\nDouble click on Folder Options icon.\r\nSelect the View tab.\r\nSelect the radio button of (Show hidden files and folders) and click OK.\r\nNow open My Computer, then C:\\, then Documents and settings, then [your account name folder], then Local settings folder:\r\n\r\n You will find there is a folder named Temp, select it and delete it, after that empty the Recycle bin. \r\n3. Clean the Temporary Internet Files and Internet Explorer Add-ons.\r\nHow to do that?\r\n\r\nOpen Control Panel.\r\nDouble click on the Internet Options file.\r\nFrom the General tab and in the browsing history group check the checkbox of (Delete browsing history on exit) and click delete.\r\nIn the same group click on settings, then view objects, then delete all the files inside this folder.\r\nNow select the programs tab, and click on Manage Add-ons button, select the entire list and disable all, click OK.\r\n\r\n4. Disable all startup programs and non-Windows services.\r\nHow to do that?\r\n\r\nOpen Run (from Start up menu)\r\nWrite msconfig and hit enter.\r\nClick on the Startup tab, and Disable all.\r\nClick on the Services tab, Check the box (Hide all Microsoft Services), then Disable all.\r\nClick Apply then OK (restarting).\r\nRestart your Computer in normal mode.\r\nUninstall the Antivirus program by :\r\n\r\n Opening the Control Panel, double click on (Add or remove Programs) icon, select the antivirus program and uninstall it. \r\n\r\n\r\nInstall a new antivirus (because the previous one couldn\u2019t save you from viruses and trojan horses), personally I prefer Kaspersky antivirus, since the last year and so far I had no problems with viruses because of it. if you want to download and try it click here\r\n\r\n5. Re-Install the Antivirus Program\/Anti Spyware program.\r\nHow to do that?\r\n\r\nAfter installing the new Antivirus program, perform an update for it.\r\nRestart your Windows and enter to the safe mode again and perform a deep scan to all your Hard Drive.\r\n\r\n Note: For better results, and in addition to the new antivirus program, you can use a tool called (Hijack this) it\u2019s a Free tool which has the ability to make a deep checking for your System files, and with aid of its original website you can delete whatever harmful files it detects.
