I did my best in every part of the work, starting from the screenplay and commentary scripts, to the lighting, videography, montage and editing, sound mixing and fixing, color corrections and special effects, directing, poster designing and many other small things that you may find in the INSO film website.

About the INSO Documentary Film

This is the trailer of my new Documentary Film titled “The Iraqi National Symphony Orchestra” which will be participating in international film festivals soon.

The Iraqi National Symphony Orchestra is considered as the oldest Orchestra in the Arab world, where it’s beginning was in the forties of the last century.

The Orchestra’s journey wasn’t perfect like the other Symphony Orchestras, or at least it wasn’t a normal journey, as it always been facing difficulties because of the unstable political and social conditions during many decades ago.

So, what were the obstacles encountered by the INSO? was it able to survive and evolve? what was the position of the successive Governments of them? and what was the fate of it’s members?

I don’t want to talk more about the film, but to those who would have the chance to attend in any film festival I strongly encourage them to watch this film on theater.

The Registry is a centralized data structure that Windows programs, including the Windows itself, use to store configuration data.

Every software installs specific registry files into the registry called registry keys, those files help the operating system on how to deal with this particular software… hence the software meant by a program or a Windows driver.

Can I manage and deal with the Registry directly?

You can do that BUT it is highly not recommended as the Registry files are so critical and any simple mistake by editing a registry key or deleting one without being 100% sure about what are you doing would cause a Windows crash or instability.

How do I know if I have a Registry error or corruption?

As stated by Microsoft,

What are the reasons behind a Registry corruption?

There are many reasons behind that and sometimes it is difficult to find the cause of registry corruption, but I am listing below some possible causes that you may try to fix:

• The Registry is written to at shutdown stage: The registry hive is written to disk during the computer shutdown, and this process may stop the computer or a component in the computer before the writing is completed, and you will not discover this until you try to load the registry hive at the next restart.
• Power Failure: A power failure or some other unexpected shutdown event may cause a corrupted registry hive. if a computer shutdown happened during a process that may have been modifying part of the registry hive and before that change could be completed, this leaves the registry hive in an inconsistent state. On next restart, the operating system will find difficulties to load the registry and will show you one of the error messages shown above in the gray note section.
• File Corruption
• Faulty Hardware: This could be a reason of processor defection, Hard Disk controller, RAM … etc that causes the registry hives to be corrupted, and by the way this might include system or data file corruption in addition to the registry hive corruption.

 

Note: A registry corruption might occur via a virus or spyware injection, so better to be sure that you operating system is clean of viruses and trojans.

How to troubleshoot and solve the Registry corruption problems?

There are many ways to do so, most of them are hard for average users to implement and its recommended to ask a professional technician for that in case of the below instructions did not solve the problem, but in most cases you as a normal user can implement some of the below methods:

1. Restore the computer to a previous state before registry corruption occurred (Learn how to use the Windows Restore)

 

Note: if you cannot log in to your computer, you need to restore the Windows from the Recovery Console, I will post a new tutorial for how to do that as this will make this article so long.

 

2. Run the chkdsk /r command-line command on the disk that contains the registry hive files (normally C: drive). This command helps verify that the area of the disk that contains the registry hive files is not involved in the problem.

 

 Note: To do that you have to :

• Log in as Administrator.
• Then click on Start > Run > type cmd and click on Enter key.
• Type chkdsk /r and press Enter.

• Type Y and press Enter.
• Restart your computer.

The operation will occur after your restart.

 

3. Update all your Windows drivers. (to learn more click on How to deal with Windows Drivers)

How to control another computer remotely?

One of the common ways to control another Windows remotely is to use a software called Teamveiwer, you can use this software to remotely control any computer as if you were sitting in-front of it via an internet connection

Note: I forgot in the video to mention that you can switch the remote controlling between the two parties you and your friend at any time, and what I mean by that is that you can let your partner view your desktop instead of you viewing his by going to the Actions> Switch Sides with partner.

 

I don’t wanna say anything regarding this movie since its not released yet and you can watch it on theaters on Dec 2011 as mentioned in the trailer…

I put the below Official trailer and underneath it some shots from the same trailer including the one that I was seen in it..

I am sure this movie is one of the greatest ones Tom has made yet.

I found that tiny model so interesting to be based on as its idea was very nice and its small size gave me more challenges to accomplish a more than five times bigger model, so I accepted my self challenging and took the little mermaid statue model home, and started sculpturing it with some few modifications to give it more tragedy look… So I think at that time I did my best, but if I do it now again I would be more satisfied with the result….

But, taking in consideration the small size of the tiny model, and my little experience in sculpturing world as that was my second statue I made ever after Kathum Al-Saher’s one…

The below picture shows the real original statue of this little mermaid in Sweden, and underneath it you will find my work at that time as I told you based on the tiny model of the original one.

Note: I’m mentioning the Windows partition because some times when Windows is crashed because of a virus or registry errors and cannot be repaired we do a clean Windows installation which requires formatting the partition that the current operating system is already installed in resulting of loosing all our files on that partition.

 

To be on safe side, by default you may not store your important files on desktop or other locations on C drive, and thats why I mentioned in one of my old tutorials “How to partition the Hard Disk Drive” that partitioning the Hard Disk Drive is important and has lots of benefits which has already been listed in that tutorial, and also you may change the My Documents folder location from the C drive into other drive in order to store your files on other drive..

So, in case if you haven’t done that before and you searched google and found this page because you have experienced the Windows Crash and want to know how to backup your files to other partition I found a very simple and useful tool that is called Puppy Linux, this tool will operate your computer from a CD or flash drive using Linux Operating system interface so you can deal with all your backups easily … don’t say I don’t know Linux, it is so simple interface and so close to the Windows GUI, This software is very easy to use even your grandmother could set it up and use it.

How Puppy Linux works?

It simply boots from a CD/DVD disc to which its ISO file has been written/burned, or from USB flash drive, It is not installed on your computer’s hard disk drive and records nothing on that drive unless you ask it to be installed there (as Windows itself is). It runs in the computer’s RAM memory and gives you the whole operating system interface from there.

How to burn and use Puppy Linux?

• First you need to download the ISO file from the download button above, the file will be named as pup-431.iso.
• You need to use a burning software, if you don’t have you can download the FREE version of Ashampoo Burning Studio v6 from the below button:

After downloading the Ashampoo Burning Studio 6, follow the below steps:

• Insert a blank CD into your writable DVD drive.
• Open Ashampoo Burning Studio 6.
• Hover your mouse pointer over “Create/Burn Disc Images”

• Select “Burn a CD/DVD/Blue-ray Disc from a Disc Image”.

• Browse and select the pup-431.iso file you’ve just downloaded and click on Next.

• If your CD is blank, it will show you the green remark, click on Write CD to burn the file in the CD and complete the process.

After completing the burning process, follow the below steps to execute the pup-431.iso from the CD (This will take around two minutes to be completed):

• Reboot your computer and make the CD drive is your first bootable option from the BIOS. (a very simple step, to learn more please visit Windows XP installation process page)
• Save your new BIOS settings by pressing F10 and click on Yes to confirm.
• Wait for a moment, the first interface will be shown as below.

• Wait a moment until the tool contents extracted into the RAM.

• Select your language and hit the Enter key (In my case I’ve selected the USA option).

• Confirm your language and hit the Enter key.

• Confirm your location and click on the Enter key.

• Press Enter to select Xorg and continue, if you face issues try to reselect the other option Xvesa.

• Using the keyboard arrows select Test and press Enter to let the system locate the best Video resolution to be working with.

• Now if you have a USB or PS/2 mouse in your computer, simply hit enter, if you have a serial mouse (the old type mouse) you have to select the other option ‘Change_mouse’ and hit Enter.

• If the test succeeded (which is most probably) a confirmation as below will be shown.

• Hit the enter key, to confirm the finishing of the test.

• Hit enter to start the Puppy system desktop.

• And as you can see now its ready for you to do what ever you need to do with your files like transfer them from one location to another, remember that in Windows we use double click to open a file or folder, in Linux its only one click so you may try it out….

 

Note: After you finish your work, take out your CD from your CD room and reboot your computer from Menu> then select reboot.

I participated in this short film as a special effects editor, the scenes I edited was around 45 to 50 seconds all in all, but it took me around 2 months to complete them, it was all about changing the whole sky background with another cloudy one using the Adobe After Effects.

There were a lot of challenges performing this type of editing because the actor who was driving the bicycle has a lot of brightness as the shooting were during summer in United Arab Emirates, and his Emirati traditional cloths were almost as much as the sky color and brightness, so isolating the actor from the background was like hell, but the good news is I DID IT ….

There were like four different scenes I have edited in this film by replacing all the sky area into cloudy, the work done was by using frame by frame editing method which is the hardest method the editors my use, but there was no other way to solve this issue specially when the director wasn’t thinking about changing the sky at the shooting day as they have modified the scenario little bit later on. The main editor for this movie was my Emirati friend Hassan Kiyany and he did his part in an excellent way.
