Parity bits

Parity bits are used as a form of error checking during the information transmission.

Bad Sector

A sector on a computer’s Hard Disk that cannot be used due to permanent damage, such as physical damage.

CRC

The CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Error) is a technique used for error detection in data communications. The technique gained its popularity because it combines three advantages:

1. Extreme error detection capabilities.
2. Little overhead.
3. Ease of implementation.
